Smart Warehouse Management System
Design and development of an integrated warehouse and inventory management system with real-time inventory tracking, barcode support, and multi-warehouse connectivity on a single platform.
Challenge
The company managed 12 warehouses distributed across several cities using Excel spreadsheets and manual processes, resulting in inventory error rates exceeding 15%. Receiving and shipping operations were time-consuming due to the absence of a unified barcode system, and coordination between warehouses was handled through phone calls and emails. The lack of real-time inventory visibility caused stockouts for some products and overstocking of others, negatively impacting customer satisfaction and significantly increasing operational costs.
Solution
We developed a comprehensive warehouse management system using React for the frontend and .NET for the backend with an SQL Server database to ensure stable and reliable performance. An advanced barcode system was integrated, supporting scanning via cameras and mobile devices to accelerate receiving, shipping, and inventory counting operations. We added IoT device support to monitor storage conditions such as temperature and humidity in real time, with instant alerts when thresholds are exceeded. The system provides a centralized dashboard displaying the status of all warehouses in real time, along with advanced analytical reports and intelligent forecasts for future inventory needs.
