E-Government Services Portal
Development of a comprehensive electronic portal for digitizing government services, enabling citizens to complete their transactions entirely online with security and speed.
Challenge
The government entity relied entirely on paper-based transactions, requiring applicants to visit in person and wait for hours to complete simple procedures. There were more than 45 services requiring different paper forms and multiple procedures across several departments, leading to significant delays in completing transactions. The absence of a unified digital system made it impossible for applicants to track their transaction status and difficult for employees as well. Additionally, the high security requirements for sensitive government data posed an extra challenge in the digital transformation process.
Solution
We designed and developed an integrated electronic portal using Next.js to provide an easy-to-use interface with full Arabic language support and responsive design for all devices. The backend was built using Java with an Oracle DB database to ensure stability and high performance when handling large volumes of transactions. We adopted Keycloak for identity and access management with multi-factor authentication support and integration with national identity systems for secure user verification. The entire system was deployed on a containerized Docker infrastructure for easy scaling and maintenance, with the highest cybersecurity standards applied to protect sensitive government data.
